Ernie and Winnie Price

Ernie and Winnie Price, NNI Volunteers of the Month for January, 2008

Ernie and Winnie Price are two dedicated volunteers who donate their time to Northland Neighborhoods, Inc. and many other organizations.

Ernie was born in Lebanon, MO. He moved to Kansas City as a young man and finished High School at Central High. He started his career in 1951 at the downtown airport working for TWA and retired after 45 years.

Winnie lived in Iowa and moved to Kansas City in 1968. She drove a school bus for the North Kansas City School District, worked at Dolgins, and then went to Blue Cross-Blue Shield where she retired in 1989.

Ernie and Winnie met in 1972 while square dancing, married in 1982 and have been inseparable ever since. Together they have six children, six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Every year they are in charge of arts and crafts at the Annual Jesse James Festival in Kearney, MO. They enjoy crafts and gardening in the spring and summer. They both volunteer regularly at their church and at Northland Neighborhoods. They love volunteering because they enjoy being around friendly people.

NNI thanks Ernie and Winnie for everything they do for the community. Their grace and humor bring light into people’s lives and help change things for the better. Volunteers like them improve the spirit of the community.
