H.O.M.E. Program
PURPOSE: To provide necessary information to potential homebuyers before purchasing their first home.
BACKGROUND: NNI understands the current housing market is a bit overwhelming. In response to continued concerns, NNI is partnering with the University of Missouri Extension to present Home Ownership Made Easier (H.O.M.E.). The ultimate objective of this program is to empower our community members with the knowledge to help attain the goal of owning a home without harming their long term financial future. Participants will learn whether they are ready to purchase; and if not, how to design a plan to get ready in the future.
TOPICS COVERED: Financial preparedness; renting vs. buying; how much house an individual can afford; understanding credit reports; insurance; predatory lending; inspections; different types of home ownership; negotiation; mortgages; and the process of closing.
ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS: Metro area residents are encouraged to participate.
