2010 Neighborhood Newsletter Competition
One of the most thankless - yet most important - jobs for neighborhood activists is to get out that neighborhood newsletter. Northland Neighborhoods, Inc. (NNI) recognizes the importance of the newsletter as a primary communication tool, and it wants to do something about the "thankless" part, too. That's why NNI is sponsoring a contest for "Best Neighborhood Newsletter" and "Best Newsletter Article".
Neighborhood groups submitting entries must be certified members of NNI, and each group is eligible to submit an entry for each of the two contest categories, Best Neighborhood Newsletter and Best Newsletter Article. However, they must submit Best Neighborhood Newsletter applications under either Printed Newsletter or Electronic Newsletter. Awards will be given for each category. Best Newsletter Articles can be submitted under either printed or electronic format.
Application must be submitted between August 15, 2010 and September 15, 2010. Mail or drop off at Northland Neighborhood, Inc., 3015 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO 64119. Entries must have been produced within the preceding 12 months of the application.
Best Neighborhood Newsletter application must include 4 copies of 3 newsletters that were produced after September 15, 2009. If your association produces fewer than three newsletters per year, submit all that you have produced since September 15, 2009. The newsletter will be judged for content, structure, and relevance.
Best Newsletter Article application must include 4 copies of the newsletter, produced after September 15, 2009, that contains the article being submitted. Please clearly identify which article is being submitted. The article will be judged for layout, content and relevance of the article.
Winners will be announced and awards presented during NNI's Annual Breakfast on October 16, 2009.
